Types of Boiler we Install
The most popular types of boiler systems in the UK are:
• Combi boilers - The name combi refers to the fact that these boilers can act as both a water heater and also a central heating unit.
• System boilers – A system boiler receives cold water directly from the mains, heats it, and transfers it to an unvented hot water storage cylinder for storage until it is needed.
• Conventional boilers - Also known as a regular boiler, conventional boiler systems are comprised of a number of parts including a boiler, heating controls, a hot water cylinder, a cold water storage cistern plus a feed, and an expansion cistern.
Although a big percentage of UK homes has the infrastructure to accommodate gas boilers there are still around 2 million homes that don’t have a gas supply. An electric boiler eliminates the issue of being connected to a gas supply as well as freeing up more space as there is no need for a tank. This makes the electric boiler compact and convenient as well as giving you more flexibility with the placement as it doesn’t need to be fitted to an outside wall.
Electric boilers are usually quieter as they don’t have moving components to keep them running, easier to maintain as there isn’t as much residue build up and safer as the risk of gas or carbon monoxide leaks are eliminated.
